Our client, a financial services company is hiring a Client Management AVP on a contract basis.

Work Location:

New York, NY

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years of experience in loan operations
  • 5 years of banking/finance industry experience
  • Working knowledge of primary lending systems: ACBS, ClearPar, WSO, Loan IQ, SyndTrak, Intralinks, Debt Domain, payments systems GBS
  • Highly motivated, tenacious, and proactive.
  • Commercial and possess strong verbal reasoning skills as well as being detail oriented and analytical
  • Ability to prioritize using own initiative, frequently to tight and demanding deadlines, with a varied workload.
  • To ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Operational Risk Framework and internal Policies and Standards.
  • Ability to identify issues on agency transactions often complex structures and find workable solutions.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationship with Borrowers at senior management/board level.
  • To build long lasting and trusting relationships with senior deal teams in CB, IB, Trade and Leveraged Finance.
  • Ability to challenge in the right way, discuss and negotiate agency related issues with colleagues at D/MD level, with external clients and sponsors at executive director level and with external legal counsel at partner level.

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Ability to review legal loan documentation and ensure it meets operational requirements for agented and participation transactions
  • The role requires a high level of attention to detail and good oral and written Restricted – External communication skills
  • Capability to review loan documentation, the Letter of credit product and lending transaction
  • Ability to work very independently and take full ownership of defined tasks and be resourceful to address questions
  • High level of analytical and numeracy skills with a good working knowledge of excel.
  • Strong business skills, including the ability to deliver solutions with commercial awareness.
  • Experience of providing detailed instructions to lawyers and other professionals.
  • To ensure the team are aware of risk identifiers and the prompt and effective escalation of risk matters.
  • A good understanding of operational/funding issues to ensure that unsupportable deals are not signed and workable solutions are agreed in good time.
  • To understand and ensure a workable agency interaction with other parts of the Firm including Loan Servicing, Trade Finance, Treasury and the derivative products.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Quality conscious and detail oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing the daily Client Management workflow for the loan transactions where client is a lead agent or lender participant
  • Reviewing closing documentation to ensure it meets operational requirements and manage teams’ performance to ensure all financial closings are properly positioned to fund
  • Ensuring all appropriate committee approvals, credit risk sanctions, loan documentation, and KYC are complete and in place to ensure efficient and timely closing
  • Reviewing legal loan documentation and ensure it meets operational requirements where applicable for agented and participation transactions and serve as Subject Matter Expert
  • Ensuring covenant diaries and financial covenants are keyed properly into LISTT according to the credit agreement for asset management purposes
  • Managing the associated closing process utilizing internal systems and checklists to complete the setup of a transaction profile
  • Validating the processing of amendments/ waivers and consent requests from Borrowers which are technical in nature
  • Undertaking and adhering to all compliance requirements and internal policies applicable to this role
  • Frequent interaction with borrowers, numerous client relationship areas and external parties e.g. professional advisers.
  • Ensure delivery of a premium facility agent service to both internal and external clients.
  • As a loan documentation expert, ensure executed loan documentation works from an agency and loan servicing perspective and that the Firm is not unknowingly tied into an unworkable or administratively onerous transaction for many years.
  • To work with limited direction from senior management, to recommend policies and procedures, make and approve decisions of facility structures and manage day to day activities.
  • To help build and enhance the agency franchise client has in the loan market, keeping our client at the centre of everything we do whilst maintaining the Values.
  • Manage a portfolio of facilities on a day to day basis within agreed terms and conditions.
  • Liaise closely with Operations teams in respect of new facility set up, amendments, drawdowns and fees.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal Business Partners.
  • Responsible for ensuring documented reporting information is received in a timely manner and disseminated to lenders appropriately.
