Soloh Partners is seeking a local contract Radiation Therapist for a local contract job in Brooklyn, New York.

Position :  BHMC - Xray (Radiologic) Tech

Location :  Brooklyn, NY

Pay Rate : $ 56 / hr

Schedule :  3.45 Pm - 12 Am - SATURDAY & SUNDAY ONLY , 11 : 45 Pm - 8 : 00 Am - OVERNIGHT - 3 days Sunday into Monday, Tuesday into Wednesday, Thursday into Friday

Duties :

Treatment of patients :

  • Arrange treatment appointments.
  • Deliver radiation to patients in accordance with physician's instructions.
  • Operate all types of radiotherapy equipment, i.e., Cobalt Therapy Unit, Linear Accelerator, Simulator, etc.

    • Pre-Treatment Preparation :

  • Operate simulator for localization of tumor size and position.
  • Takes contours and collects all physical factors for treatment plans.
  • Perform dosimetry for treatment plans.
  • Take photographs of patients for portal verifications, etc.

    • Patient Care Activities :

  • Recognize all types of radiation reactions and provides proper care and instructions to patients.
  • Educate patients with respect to radiation therapy reactions and also lifestyle modifications.
  • Instruct incoming Residents and technologists in the use of equipment.
  • Prepare Cerrobend alloy blocks.
  • Fabricate plastic holders for blocks.
  • Construct and fabricate patient immobilization devices.
  • Take and develop radiographs.
  • Maintain patient management room neat and orderly.

    • Requirements :

  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment in use at BHMC Good patient interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and speak English Ability to fully utilize BHMC's electronic record systems, equipment, and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
  • Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing or exerting force up to 75 pounds.

    • Preferred Skills & Experience :

  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of x-ray or radiologic experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of accredited radiologic program.
  • Certification in the operation of Radiologic equipment and treatment.
