Special Education Teacher in Joliet, IL

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time Special Education Teacher position offers an opportunity to support K-3rd grade students in a resource setting tailored to their individual needs. The role involves working with a caseload of approximately 11 students, delivering specialized, targeted instruction in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This contract opportunity is based in Joliet, IL, at a local elementary school and extends for the remainder of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a resource setting, focusing on individualized goals and accommodations.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and school staff to implement and monitor student IEPs.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to ensure academic growth.
• Ensure accommodations and supports are provided consistently across all learning environments.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student performance and needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (LBS1).
• Experience working with early childhood and primary grade students (K-3).
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary school team.
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to student-centered instruction.
