Job Overview

The Simulation Technician is an essential role in supporting the general mission, vision and strategic goals of the O'Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center of the Georgetown University School of Nursing. This position is necessary to support the director, manager and other technicians of the nursing simulation center, as well as faculty and students at the School of Nursing. Using standards of best practice, this individual should collaborate with the team in order to deliver high quality simulation learning activities that are delivered across both undergraduate and graduate programming. Employee will be trained in operating the human patient simulators and performing other technical functions within the simulation center and may be required to attend training sessions that support this responsibility. The individual in this role will be hired to extend the hours and days of the center. They will primarily support the center on weekends and evenings, but may be asked to work earlier in the day to support learners as needed. Schedule will be communicated to the individual in this role by the Manager of Simulation approximately 2 months in advance.

Additional duties include but are not limited to :

• Facilitation of the day-to-day tasks which must be performed to ensure safe and efficient operation of the clinical simulation center.
• Operation and maintenance of the human patient simulators
• Set-up and break down of simulated clinical rooms
• Maintaining access to the center during schedule simulations that occur on evening hours on weekdays, weekend hours and daytime hours as needed.
• Flexibility to work some day shift hours as needed.

Work Interactions

This position will work with a variety of people and roles. He or she will be a support person for the simulation center and will interact with both internal and external users. Strong independent communication skills are required. This role will positively impact the university by providing a higher level and quality of service to the users of the clinical simulation center. Interaction will be required with undergraduate and graduate nursing students and faculty, members of the community, work-study students assigned to the simulation center, and other GUSON staff.

Pay Range :

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is :

$41,926.00 - $65,090.00

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
