Job Title : Machine Operator Job Description

Set up and operate heading machinery to forge heads on steel rods used for the production of large anchor bolts and fasteners for the construction industry. You will heat the end of the steel rod to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit using induction heating coils and then place it in the heading machine to form the hex head of the bolt. Inspection of the finished parts for quality once cooled is also a part of your duties. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day as the rods are handled by hand and can be on the heavier side. This position is on day shift with regular scheduled hours from 6 am to 2 : 30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Form hex heads on bolts using heading machines.
• Inspect finished parts for quality after cooling.
• Handle rods manually, lifting up to 50 lbs throughout the day.

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean for a machine shop, located in an enclosed but uninsulated building / pole barn. It can get cooler in winter and warmer in summer. The shop is friendly and laid back. PPE including special gloves, safety glasses, and ear plugs will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50 / hr.
