Job Title : Behavioral Health Technician – Residential Services

Location : Newark, Canandaigua, & Clifton Springs NY

Employment Type : Full-Time or Per Diem (Hourly)

Schedule : Varies by shift availability (Days, Evening or Overnight)

Job Summary :

FLACRA is seeking compassionate and reliableBehavioral Health Techniciansto join our Residential Services team. In this role, you will support the daily care and recovery of individuals in a structured residential setting. Working closely with counseling and clinical staff, Behavioral Health Technicians help ensure client safety, foster skill development, and support a therapeutic environment that promotes independence and healing.

Minimum Qualifications :

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications :

Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or related field

Experience in behavioral health, residential care, or similar setting

Job Requirements :

Key Responsibilities :

Client Support & Engagement :

Support daily treatment and recovery plans through structured activities and skill-building exercises

Facilitate community meetings, recreational activities, and daily routines

Provide therapeutic support and behavioral interventions in coordination with clinical staff

Serve as a positive role model and assist clients in managing emotional or behavioral challenges

Daily Living & Life Skills :

Teach and assist with personal care, meal preparation, chores, and budgeting

Guide clients in using community resources and maintaining a safe living environment

Support clients in reaching treatment goals and developing healthy, independent habits

Transportation & Community Involvement :

Transport clients to appointments, job interviews, or approved community activities

Collaborate with external agencies and client support networks as needed

Safety & Documentation :

Monitor client well-being and report any medical, behavioral, or safety concerns promptly

Complete all shift documentation, including incident reports, progress notes, and safety checks

Participate in on-site cleaning, maintenance of common areas, and client supervision

Assist with medication observation following training and certification

Support crisis response and de-escalation as needed

Skills & Competencies :

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to remain calm in high-stress or crisis situations

Comfort working in diverse and multicultural environments

Knowledge of behavioral health issues and trauma-informed care

Proactive, reliable, and able to multitask effectively

Team player with strong interpersonal and time management skills
