Engineer I - Site Development

Overview

RK&K is hiring a Transportation / Site Development Engineer for our Richmond office. In this role, you will work closely with project managers and other team members to execute work involving engineering principals and other related activities. You will provide planning, design and construction support on a variety of engineering projects with a focus on highway transportation and site development projects.

Essential Functions

• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related activities
• Assist with the preparation and review of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents
• Assist with project management activities for select tasks and develop project management skills for expanded responsibilities and internal project management assignments
• Support field testing and investigations when required
• Support construction projects with office engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders) when required
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines, such as cost estimators, GIS, designers, and other engineers
