Job Summary :

The Database Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of production relational databases. This role involves ensuring data integrity, availability, and security, as well as troubleshooting database issues and optimizing performance in a live production environment.

Location : Baltimore, Maryland, United States

Responsibilities :

  • Administering production relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Implementing and managing backup and restoration procedures.
  • Developing and executing disaster recovery plans.
  • Optimizing database queries and performance.
  • Monitoring database health and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Developing, reviewing, and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.

Required Skills & Certifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Database Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on experience administering production relational databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Proven experience with backup and restoration procedures, disaster recovery, query optimization, and performance tuning in live production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and develop, review, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions in an operations and maintenance environment.
