Accounting Specialist
PrideStaff is looking for an Accounting Specialist for a financial establishment located in Central Oregon. The Accounting Specialist manages daily financial processing, general ledger (GL) reconciliations, and internal troubleshooting. This role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise and high-level interpersonal skills to resolve member and vendor inquiries with diplomacy.
Key Responsibilities
- GL & Financial Accuracy (30%):Balance assigned GL accounts; perform entries and assist with month-end closures; maintain subsidiary accounts and meticulous financial records.
- Daily Transaction Processing (35%):Execute daily balancing for ACH, wire transfers (Fedline), EFTPS, ATM adjustments, remote deposits, and overdrawn accounts.
- Problem Resolution & Support (25%):Research and resolve complex member or vendor issues; provide cross-departmental backup for AP, IT, and Finance operations.
- Strategic Projects & Reporting (10%):Assist in business plan implementation, process improvements, and the generation of monthly/quarterly financial reports.
Success Metrics
- Efficiency:Month-end activities and financial statements completed within 5 business days.
- Precision:Assigned accounts reconciled and balanced within 10 working days.
- Communication:Prompt resolution of internal/external inquiries and proactive reporting of operational issues to management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience:1-3 years of related accounting or financial services experience.
- Technical Savvy:Proficient in Windows environments, general ledger systems, and electronic payment networks (ACH, VISA, EFT).
- Communication:Exceptional telephone etiquette and the ability to handle confidential information with high discretion.
- Reliability:Strict adherence to schedules (standard 8:00–5:00, with occasional early starts or unscheduled overtime as needed).
