Job Description
AkroFire is seeking an Engineering Technician I who supports the Engineering Function on a variety of technical tasks to meet departmental objectives while being responsible for the production of a wide variety of advanced products. Acts as professional lead for a variety of prototyping and training tasks. A strong candidate will bring both technical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills to the Engineering team. They will excel as effective communicators who can collaborate with other team members to ensure that prototype demands are met in a timely and efficient manner. Attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to safety protocols are essential.

Responsibilities:
- Manufacture prototype products based on manufacturing plan with support of engineering.
- Assist in the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment to achieve industrialization that yields efficient, conforming, cost-effective products.
- Assist in the development and execution of training programs to educate manufacturing personnel on new processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for manufacturing quality issues.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Job Specifications:
Education:
- Requires a Bachelors degree or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of AkroFire production processes is valued.
Skills:
- Problem-solving and analytical skills: should be able to analyze complex problems, identify potential issues, and develop effective solutions. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to interpret data are important. Possess excellent judgement, critical thinking & decision-making skills with the ability to thrive in a hands-on, technical environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, processes, and technologies is essential. This includes knowledge of materials, product design, assembly techniques, and quality control. Familiarity with lean manufacturing & continuous improvement preferred.
- Communication and collaborative skills: Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product designers, process engineers, program management, operations, and quality control is crucial in this role. Possess strong organizational & time management skills with focused attention to detail. Ability to influence & interact effectively with various stakeholders. The ability to work well in a team environment and present ideas clearly is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple and/or competing projects/deadlines prioritizing/reprioritizing as needed to meet departmental and/or business commitments & objectives.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to complete complex tasks on-time with minimal supervision/guidance

- Provide a safe work environment through focus on 5S, risk reduction, & data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations & company policies.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in both lab and manufacturing environments with some exposure to specialty chemicals. Personal protective equipment provided.
- Moderate physical activity required, including walking, standing, stretching, reaching and some lifting to a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Manufacturing will utilize various hand tools and require high dexterity applications.
