Mechanical Technician - Entry Level

Midwest Valve Services, A Novaspect Company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Repair Technician with an emphasis in control valve and field services to join our fast paced, customer-oriented team. The successful candidate will have excellent industrial aptitude and will be committed to the success of our company.

Repair Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA standards
• Participate in the repair, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of control valves
• Participate in the servicing, tuning, calibrating, starting-up and commissioning of mechanical products and / or automated controls (i.e. panels, digital controllers, control valves, metering and building automation equipment)
• Assist with the repair and testing of safety relief, industrial isolation valves, and actuators
• Rigging and hoisting valve and actuator components in compliance with OSHA standards
• Assist in loading and unloading tools and equipment into service vehicles
• Apply math skills to verify measurements, calculate dimensions and verify tolerances
• Complete valve repair and service reports
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Average travel time is up to 40% (Monday-Friday) over the course of the year. This means local travel to customer sites to perform on-site work and travel as needed throughout the Midwest
• Spring and Fall are outage seasons and are the busy travel times of the year
• Weekends and afterhours work may be required, up to 20% of the time
• Overnight travel is required
• Other duties as required

Salary Description $24 - $34 per hour
