Seeking an Automation Systems Technician to join our team in New Britain, CT. As the Advanced Manufacturing Technician, you will be responsible for the wiring, start-up, testing, and final verification of industrial laser cutting machines to ensure full electrical and mechanical functionality in accordance with customer and company quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure laser cutting machines meet performance and quality requirements.
Wire, start up, and test advanced electro-mechanical systems for reliable operation and cutting accuracy.
Commission disk and fiber laser systems to validate cutting quality according to specifications.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and software-related issues.
Prepare fully tested machines for shipment, ensuring all documentation and packaging requirements are complete.
Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for work.
Work safely with high- and low-voltage electrical systems, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
Document test results and findings in quality and test reports.
Stay updated with engineering change notices, product updates, and technical improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in line with company standards.
Participate in team meetings and implement process improvements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, such as SYNCHRO, 5S, and Continuous Improvement Process (CIP).
Enforce company safety, quality, and operational policies.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, machine start-up, or system testing.
Strong working knowledge of industrial machinery, automation systems, CNC equipment, or laser cutting technology.
Experience with electrical systems, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial software.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and machine documentation.
Familiarity with machine operation, manufacturing applications, and quality control processes.
Proven troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
Self-driven with a willingness to learn and adapt with evolving technologies.
