Job Description

Academic healthcare system seeks a Hospitalist Medical Director in Saginaw Michigan!

    • Practice Description :

  • Location : Saginaw, MI
  • Clinical (0.7 FTE) : Regular inpatient day shifts with integrated teaching of students and residents
  • Administrative (0.3 FTE) : Leadership duties, committee participation, and program oversight
  • Blend of clinical care with administrative leadership, serving as a key liaison between the hospital medicine team, administration, and other departments.
  • Provide and manage direct inpatient care for Internal Medicine patients
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate residents and medical students in both clinical and hospital settings
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and monitor quality, safety, and performance metrics
  • Serve as liaison between Hospital Medicine, hospital administration, and other departments to enhance care delivery and operational efficiency
  • Participate in recruitment, orientation, and professional development of hospitalist providers
  • Support educational programs, conferences, and curriculum development within the residency and medical education framework
  • Lead or contribute to quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary meetings

    • Requirements :

  • MD or DO degree; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Eligible for Michigan medical licensure and faculty appointment with a College of Medicine
  • Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and communication skills
  • Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations
