Special Ed Teacher - Topeka, Kansas

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher dedicated to supporting diverse learners in an educational setting. This role is based in Topeka, KS, and involves working under a contract to provide tailored instructional support to students with special needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals and state guidelines
• Adapting classroom materials and teaching techniques to meet varying abilities and learning styles
• Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment
• Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records of academic and behavioral development
• Managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a school environment
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
