Job Title: Service Technician - Traffic and Video Surveillance

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Service Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic and video surveillance cameras. This role involves working with traffic control systems and requires expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining advanced surveillance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance on traffic control and video surveillance cameras.
• Replace devices and terminate connections accurately.
• Troubleshoot wire faults, fiber networks, and device problems on existing facilities.
• Program and assign addresses to devices.
• Conduct regular hardware inspections, lens cleaning, and firmware updates.
• Diagnose network connectivity or image quality issues.
• Run, terminate, and test low-voltage (Cat5e, Cat6) and fiber-optic cables.
• Maintain detailed records regarding work performed and materials used.
• Coordinate with traffic engineers to ensure cameras are correctly positioned.
• Ensure all work complies with National Codes and standards, practicing quality testing techniques.

Essential Skills

• Certification: IMSA Traffic Signal Technician I or II certification.
• Proficiency in traffic engineering, civil engineering, and transportation.
• Knowledge of MUTCD (Uniform Traffic Control Devices).
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
• Experience with Axis, Avigilon, and Alta cameras.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced computer and network skills are a plus.
• CDL License is a plus.
• Strong customer service and results orientation.
• Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Work Environment

This position involves working on new construction sites, outdoors, in all weather conditions. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, not exceeding 40 hours per week, with a first shift schedule in Mesa, AZ. The environment may be loud, and technicians must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. All necessary tools and personal protective equipment are provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
