Looking for a career that lets you empower job seekers and drive workforce success The Department of Community Services (DCS) WorkHawaii Division is seeking two experienced Job Resource Specialist III s to provide and facilitate pre-employment services in Honolulu. One vacancy is with the American Job Center Hawaii and the other in the Job Readiness Preparation Programs section. These full-time permanent positions involve providing pre-employment services to a diverse range of customers including conducting employment assessments delivering job readiness training assisting with job searching supporting job retention and facilitating life skills training at various job sites island-wide.

What Youll Do

• Conduct pre-employment and life skills training including self-assessment resume development job search strategies work ethics and essential interpersonal and time management skills.
• Provide individualized career counseling and case management by assessing client needs developing employment plans coordinating training and offering ongoing support to facilitate job readiness and retention.
• Enhance job search techniques through guidance on applications employer contact resume and cover letter updates mock interviews and facilitating discussions on life skills topics such as communication stress management and teambuilding.
• Engage with employers and community partners to promote services secure job orders and coordinate training opportunities while matching job seekers with appropriate employment and following up to ensure job retention and satisfaction.
• Develop and implement workshops assisting with curriculum design and evaluation maintaining accurate reports and performing related duties to support participant success and program goals.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelors degree in business administration personnel administration or the social sciences .

Substitution : Work experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge skills and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelors degree.

For example :

1. Four (4) years of professional work experience in any occupation may substitute for a general bachelors degree.

2. Four (4) years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) in employment services / case management / social services or related may substitute for a general bachelors degree.

The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college / university in the United order to receive credit for the education proper documentation e.g. a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program evidence of comparability or an original transcript.
