Penmac Staffing is seeking candidates for a Welder / Grinder position with a local manufacturing company. This is a temp-to-hire, full-time role.Responsibilities :

  • Fit, tack, and weld stainless steel parts according to drawings.
  • Ensure dimensions are correct and welds are clean and uniform.
  • Set up welding equipment and plan layout and assembly.
  • Polish and clean weld joints.
  • Weld in all positions (6G) and read weld symbols on blueprints.
  • Perform G.T.A.W welding with stainless steel in 1G-6G positions.
  • Pass an ASME / PED weld test.
  • Calculate circumferences and fabricate equipment accurately.
  • Inspect grooves, angles, or gaps using precision instruments.
  • Use hand tools, fabricating equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Perform NDT / Liquid Penetrate on inside welds.
  • Work on stainless steel fabrication, including cutting, grinding, polishing, bending, and assembly.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Maintain safe operation of shop equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces and hot / cold environments.
  • Recommend improvements and participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned and travel when required.

Requirements :

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years of previous fabrication experience preferred.
  • MIG / TIG welding experience (60 / 40 split).
  • Ability to perform simple math and read a tape measure.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient with hand tools and basic fabrication tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to read blueprints.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Awareness of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean / Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Physically capable of wearing protective gear, standing for 8+ hours, and lifting 50 lbs.

    • Work Schedule :

  • 1st Shift : Mon-Thurs (7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM), Fri (5 : 00 AM - 1 : 30 PM)
  • 2nd Shift : Mon-Thurs (3 : 25 PM - 11 : 55 PM), Fri (1 : 15 PM - 9 : 45 PM)

    • Pay :

  • $18 - $20 / hr (2nd shift includes a 10% shift differential, totaling $22 / hr)

    • Assignment Length :

  • Temp-to-hire

    • Dress Code :

  • Steel Toe Boots or Composite safety toe required
