CNC Operator (Night)

WORK SCHEDULE : Full time, Night Shift - 4-day schedule

HOURS : Thursday - Saturday - 6 : 00 p.m.. - 6 : 00 a.m. & Wednesday 12 : 00 a.m. - 6 : 00 a.m.

SUMMARY : Responsible for the operation of CNC machines to produce a variety of machined components to specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Cuts to proper length and loads stock into CNC machines to acquire end result meeting quality standards.
• Measures and inspects samples of work from stock loads for conformance to blueprint specifications.
• Comprehends written and verbal instructions and translates them into actionable tasks in support of the production process
• Knowledgeable of the CNC machining processes within the department. Ensures the written and verbal production schedule is followed. Refers to procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
• Uses time effectively and promotes strong team atmosphere by assisting others when needed and keeps machines running at a maximum.
• Promotes quality by maintaining discipline and compliance of procedures related to job specifications. Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
• Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
• Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time by making sure machines are running, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.
• Maintains machines coolant level and lubricants on daily basis.
• Handles hazardous waste within the department as established by state and federal regulations.

TRAINING :

Must receive annual safety training and annual training on handling hazardous waste relative to the position and in accordance to state and federal regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Minimum of one-year CNC machining experience required. Must be able to pass the CNC proficiency tests.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and part blue prints.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to effectively use micro-measurement tools and gauges.

REASONING ABILITY :

Must demonstrate the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or blueprint form.
