POSITION :

TEMPORARY LECTURER IN Theatre : The Department of Theatre invites applications for a temporary lecturer appointment to teach courses in Costuming and Makeup, with additional duties of designing costumes for Spring productions. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

A Masters degree in Theatre is preferred. A BFA / BA in Theatre with an emphasis in Costume Design will be considered with professional experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

BFA or BA in Theatre with an emphasis in Costume Design will be considered with professional experience.

COMPENSATION :

Salary is based on qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.

Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. Housed in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; and accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) the Stan State Theatre Department is a small, collegial department of teacher-practitioners committed to diverse classroom and hands-on training for our majors, minors, and concentrations. The Department offers a general BA in Theatre with tracks in either Performance or Design and Technology. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE

The university requires a criminal and / or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees, current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities, and current employees assigned new duties. Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and / or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
