Senior Scientist - Environmental Innovations Chemist

Restek is looking for a Senior Scientist - Environmental Innovations Chemist who will drive discovery and innovation in environmental applications. In this role, you’ll conduct applied research, develop analytical methods, and collaborate across teams to bring new chromatography products and solutions to life. You’ll be the bridge between R&D, marketing, and customers — helping Restek shape the next generation of environmental testing tools.

What You’ll Do

• Innovate and experiment: Develop and validate analytical methods and applications for new and existing products in the environmental market.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with R&D, marketing, and technical service teams to translate technical data into practical solutions and market opportunities.
• Be a technical voice: Represent Restek at industry conferences, customer visits, and training sessions — presenting findings and engaging with environmental scientists worldwide.
• Create and communicate: Write technical notes, applications briefs, and experience reports that showcase the performance and value of Restek products.
• Support customers: Provide expert-level technical guidance and troubleshooting support for environmental analysis challenges.
• Champion safety and quality: Follow all safety and environmental health standards in laboratory and production areas.

What You Bring

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an environmental laboratory (instrumental analysis, method development, or applications support preferred).
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong background in analytical chemistry, ideally with GC, GC-MS, or LC instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to design, conduct, and document laboratory experiments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and standard lab software (e.g., Excel, Word, LIMS).

This position will require the successful completion of a standard background check in accordance with Restek policy. Employment with Restek will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
