Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, business OR an unrelated degree with commensurate experience of at least 5 years
Minimum of
2 years*
of professional experience in marketing or closely related field, such as communications, news or PR
Proficiency with social media platforms and digital tools
Proficiency in : Adobe Creative Suite (esp. InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro), WordPress and MS Office Suite
Understanding of brand standards and general graphic design principles
Experience and involvement with a variety of advertising / marketing campaigns
Experience in, or demonstrated understanding of, Architecture, Construction, Engineering or closely-related field preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Head of Marketing and Communications and through collaborative engagement with the staff, this role will execute and implement marketing and communications strategies and accompanying materials, including but not limited to the following :
Social Media & Website Management : Consistently plan and create engaging content that connects with key audiences through storytelling, visuals and interactive elements; take and edit photos and video that reflect the NSPJ brand; write and produce content in the “NSPJ voice”; effectively interpret and analyze data to inform strategic decisions to increase engagement; must be able to adjust writing style to specific audiences as needed
Materials and Administration : Craft, proof and / or coordinate the creation of printed, digital and visual display materials in line with NSPJ Brand, such as : RFPs, brochures, presentations, signage and displays for various purposes; coordinate project photoshoots; coordinate and produce internal communications to keep team members informed through newsletters and slideshows; ensure materials are executed within budget and on-time; maintain organization of marketing-related materials and images for easy access and reference
Outreach : Coordinate and execute the Firm’s media and publicity efforts, including, but not limited to : paid advertising, story pitches, press releases, contest entries, charitable giving and sponsorships
ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Daily attendance for a typical workday and accurate recording of time
Essential for the effective performance in this role and the successful operation of the firm’s business, the individual must be able to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and constructively in English with NSPJ employees, consultants, and clients in order to convey and understand details relating to projects and other business-related items.
Able to work cooperatively with co-workers and teams through all stages of design and construction
Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
Knowledge and daily use of computers and the computer programs used in the office for job description
Ability to work at a desk throughout the workday; adjustable (sit or stand) desks are standard
Must be able to see, interpret, and analyze data in color on computer screens / programs and paper
Performs effectively under conditions of occasional high stress and pressure
Own and able to effectively use a smartphone for required two-factor authentications, social media posting and scheduling (including Instagram)
