JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Staff Engineer with a strong background in Structural Bridge Engineering to join a well-established team. This role is integral to supporting the firm's continued growth and success. The selected candidate will lead and manage the design of a wide variety of bridge engineering projects, working collaboratively within a team-oriented environment and alongside our business partners.
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 per year. However, if you possess additional valuable skill sets that could benefit the enterprise, you may be eligible for higher compensation. We encourage strong technical candidates to apply without hesitation.
Candidates willing to live and work in Skowhegan, ME are encouraged to apply. A relocation package is available for qualified candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform engineering research, analysis, and design for structural bridge projects throughout the United States and Canada.
- Collaborate with private, municipal, and government agencies on the design of new bridges and the rehabilitation or renovation of existing bridges and crossings utilizing steel, wood, masonry, and concrete.
- Conduct structural inspections and observations to identify and evaluate structural deficiencies.
- Represent the firm at client meetings, including design review sessions.
- Work closely with professional and technical staff to meet project deadlines and deliverable requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required)Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural / Bridge Engineering focus (preferred)ASCE Grade IV Engineering Grade (Client-11)Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam (required)Licensed Professional Engineer with a minimum of four (4) years of bridge design experience (required)Strong mathematics and physics skills (required)Strong coding skills (required)Excellent technical writing skills to support reports and documentation (required)Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Docs, particularly spreadsheet development (required)Proficiency in Mathcad and / or MATLAB (required)Proficiency in STAAD and / or RISA (preferred)Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment (required)Demonstrated ethical and responsible decision-making in client interactions and professional conduct (required)Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications (required)Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, stay within budget, and resolve critical-path challenges (required)Ability to follow established procedures and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with coworkers, clients, subconsultants, and contractors (required)Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed (required)For immediate response please forward resumes to eric@valintry.com
