Radiation Therapist in Warren, MI

Key Responsibilities:

• Review patient prescriptions to determine treatment types, targeted areas, and radiation history.
• Safely position patients using immobilization devices and treatment accessories as directed by physicians.
• Operate linear accelerators and HDR machines accurately to deliver prescribed radiation doses.
• Verify radiation prescriptions prior to treatment and document doses and imaging in patient charts.
• Localize patient markings daily and assist with ongoing imaging procedures per policy.
• Coordinate patient treatment schedules, addressing transportation and other appointment needs.
• Refer patients to appropriate support services including social work, nursing, or physicians when necessary.
• Perform simulation duties and rotate through treatment areas as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock of therapy rooms, linens, and medical supplies.
• Adhere strictly to departmental quality assurance protocols, including chart checks and equipment warm-up.
• Provide instructional support to radiation therapy students in line with educational requirements.
• Complete all additional duties as assigned.
