Summary

As a vital member of our emergency response team, you will provide immediate medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses. You will deliver advanced life support care from the initial contact through to hospital transfer.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Represent the ambulance service at public service functions, events, and provide stand-by services as needed.
  • Document thorough assessments and treatments in patient care software.
  • Care for patients in crisis, providing medical and therapeutic services.
  • Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to urgent calls.
  • Operate advanced life support equipment, including defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
  • Assess injuries and illnesses, prioritizing medical procedures for stabilization and transport.
  • Respond to dispatcher instructions and safely operate emergency vehicles.
  • Administer drugs as directed by a physician.
  • Communicate effectively with medical personnel during patient transfer.
  • Ensure cleanliness and decontamination of the ambulance after treating patients.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Ability to assess and address the needs of patients and their families.
  • Proficient in document and communication using digital and paper tools.
  • Demonstrate competencies in diverse patient care across various age groups.
  • Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.
  • Ability to apply advanced knowledge in developing and executing care plans.
  • Current certifications : ACLS, PALS, Basic Life Support, EMSVO Certification, PA EMT-P Paramedic or NREMT-Paramedic, Driver's License.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Associate's Degree.
  • 2 years of experience in advanced life support services.
  • 1 year of pre-hospital paramedic experience.
  • Physical Demands :

    Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and overhead reaching.
