Our non-profit client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join their team in Oakland. You will be responsible to oversee financial operations and compliance for our organization and its affiliate entities. Reporting to the CFO , the Controller will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $140,000 to $160,000 per year.
Job Description :
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger functions.
- Create an efficient organizational structure within the accounting department to achieve short-term goals and long-term objectives.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations and best practices.
- Oversee compliance and post-award management for government contracts (federal and state) and private grants.
- Collaborate closely with department heads to manage the budgeting and forecasting process.
Requirements :
Demonstrated success in implementing and utilizing financial systems across multiple platforms.Proficiency in project management for both small and large-scale initiatives.Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Experience with Payroll and Accounting systems.Familiarity with federal and state legislation impacting nonprofits.Experience :Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management / Administration
10 years of progressive financial responsibility in organizations of similar size and complexity.5 years of experience in nonprofit and Real Estate finance.REF #48740
