Avaya Telecom Technician

Location : Bath, Maine

Schedule : Onsite | 7 : 30 AM4 : 00 PM

Clearance : Federal customer U.S. Citizens only

📞 Legacy Avaya PBX environment with hands-on technical ownership

🛠 Daily administration + onsite telecom support across punchdowns, cross-connects, and cable work

🏗 Federal shipyard environment requiring PPE & safety compliance (hard hat, steel toes, etc.)

About the Role

This is a newly created onsite position supporting a federal customer in Bath, ME. The Avaya Telecom Technician will manage daily operations of a legacy Avaya Voice PBX environment, voicemail systems, and AudioCodes equipment. This is a hands-on, technical role requiring onsite presence, safety-compliant attire, and work within a secure federal facility.

Job Summary

The Avaya Telecom Technician is responsible for the daily administration, maintenance, and support of legacy Avaya PBX systems, voicemail platforms, and AudioCodes integrations. This role performs cross-connects, punchdowns, cable pulls when needed, and provides full programming and configuration support across the voice environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily administration of legacy Avaya Voice PBX systems
  • Build and configure extensions in PBX and voicemail
  • Support AudioCodes routing and configurations as needed
  • Perform punchdowns and cross-connect work
  • Assist with cable pulls when required
  • Deploy, relocate, and configure desk phones
  • Troubleshoot handset and VoIP issues
  • Program, update, and maintain Avaya telecom environments
  • Adhere to federal safety and compliance requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience with legacy Avaya PBX systems, voicemail, and AudioCodes
  • Ability to complete physical telecom tasks (punchdowns, cross-connects, cable pulls)
  • Strong troubleshooting and programming skills in voice environments
  • Ability to work onsite in a safety-regulated federal facility
  • Avaya certification preferred
  • Background check and drug test required

    • Worksite Requirements

  • Hard hat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes required.
  • PPE provided onsite.
  • Dress code : jeans with no holes and a plain long-sleeve shirt with no writing or logos.
