Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Buildings and Grounds

HIRING RANGE: $30.36-$33.73/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hours per week

LOCATION OF POSITION: Goshen, Elkhart County

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing general maintenance for County buildings and grounds; maintaining proper heating/cooling functions of County buildings; repairing and preventive maintenance on boilers, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems in County buildings; monitoring operational factors of building operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Possession and ability to maintain license in plumbing, electrical or HVAC systems or 5 years' experience in plumbing, electrical or HVAC systems maintenance and repair
• Working knowledge of troubleshooting equipment and appliances and plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry work and locksmithing functions
• Knowledge of department safety policies and procedures and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks and operations
• Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Driver's License
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen
