POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to provide high-quality Nuclear Medicine procedures. You will play a crucial role in patient care while ensuring a safe and respectful environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training:

• Completion of a Nuclear Medicine diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
• Must comply with Continuing Education (CE) requirements.
• Eligibility for CNMT or NMTCN certification.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience:

• Preferred one year of experience in a hospital setting focused on Nuclear Medicine after graduation; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Equipment and Skills Training:

• Training will be provided for specific equipment and processes used at Williamson Medical Center.

Physical Environment:

• Practice radiation safety and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging department.

Physical Effort:

• Ability to perform multiple tasks, which include operating equipment, assisting with patient movement, and managing urgent situations effectively.
• Physical requirements include bending, twisting, stooping, lifting up to 20 pounds, and maintaining clear communication.
• Must be available for on-call and must respond within 30 minutes for STAT studies after hours and on weekends.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Verify patient identification and physician orders for accuracy prior to initiating studies.
2. Inquire about pregnancy for female patients ages 12-50 and document findings appropriately.
3. Communicate potential or existing issues regarding care quality or service improvements.
4. Ensure patient dignity by providing appropriate coverage during exams and transport.
5. Seek opportunities to assist in other areas during downtime, optimizing time usage.
6. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked working environment.
7. Adhere to nuclear medicine protocols for isotope administration.
8. Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in challenging situations and make sound decisions.
9. Adapt to new departmental procedures promptly and without hesitation.
10. Show willingness to volunteer for overtime or fill-in shifts as needed.
11. Prioritize patient safety by following all safety protocols when moving patients.
12. Ensure clear communication with colleagues to complete all requests from physicians and patients.
