Section Manager - EHS System Transmission Operations

divh2Job Position / h2pRequired Education / Experience : Bachelors Degree and 8 years related experience or Masters Degree and 6 years related experience. Preferred Education / Experience : Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field and experience related to EHS, Electric Transmission / Distribution, Power Generation, Construction or Substation Operations. Masters Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field and experience related to EHS, Electric Transmission / Distribution, Power Generation, Construction or Substation Operations. / ppRelevant Work Experience : Must successfully complete training in the Corporate EHS Procedures within two years of assignment, required. Must be highly motivated individual, demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence, and understand the vital importance of personal accountability, required. Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to successfully complete multiple tasks without compromising quality or timelines, required. Must be able to develop concepts into successful safety and environmental programs, required. Must be able to deliver exemplary customer service and develop a team spirited work environment in support of Con Edisons Corporate Values, required. Must demonstrate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and / or an ability to quickly become proficient with database packages including Microsoft Office and MAXIMO, required. / ppSkills and Abilities : Ability to lead / manage others. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated customer service skills. Instills commitment to organizational goals. Excellent organizational skills. / ppLicenses and Certifications : Drivers License Required. / ppPhysical Demands : Ability to respond to system emergencies. Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and / or cold. Ability to climb ladders and stairs. Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces). Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator, without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations. Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses. / ppAdditional Physical Demands : The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
