IT Business Relationship Manager
The office of Technology and Digital Experience at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Intl Airport is looking for IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) who will act as a strategic partner between IT and the business. This role ensures technology investments support business goals, fosters strong partnerships with stakeholders, and drives value realization from IT services, products, and initiatives. The BRM understands business needs, translates them into IT capabilities, and promotes a shared strategy across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment & Partnership
Serve as the primary liaison between IT and assigned business units.
Build trust-based relationships with business leaders to understand goals, challenges, and opportunities.
Ensure IT strategies, capabilities, and roadmaps align with business objectives.
Facilitate joint planning sessions to identify future technology needs.
Demand Management & Portfolio Planning
Capture, evaluate, and prioritize business demands for IT services and projects.
Translate business requirements into clear IT proposals, use cases, and project justifications.
Support creation of business cases, cost estimates, and benefit analyses.
Collaborate with PMO, architecture, and IT teams to ensure alignment and feasibility.
Value Realization & Performance Monitoring
Ensure delivered solutions achieve agreed-upon business outcomes and KPIs.
Track value realization and identify opportunities for optimization or continuous improvement.
Review IT service performance with business stakeholders, highlighting trends and improvement plans.
Communication & Engagement
Communicate IT roadmaps, changes, risks, and upcoming activities in clear business language.
Promote transparency between IT and business units through structured communication.
Manage expectations around solution options, timelines, and constraints.
Change & Relationship Management
Anticipate business impacts related to new technology, changes, or disruptions.
Support organizational change management (OCM) activities for IT initiatives.
Act as escalation point for service issues impacting business unit operations.
Technology Advisory & Innovation
Convey opportunities from TDE leadership where technology can drive efficiency, enhance customer experience, or support growth.
Provide insight into TDE and emerging deployment, activities, and upcoming technologies relevant to the business.
Work alongside innovation by connecting business challenges with appropriate IT solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field.
– years of experience in IT management, business analysis, service management, or a similar role.
Strong understanding of IT services, digital transformation concepts, and solution delivery models.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
Experience with ITIL, BRM frameworks, or enterprise architecture is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
BRMP (Business Relationship Management Professional)
CBRM (Certified Business Relationship Manager), a plus
ITIL Foundation or higher
PMP, CSM, or other project delivery certifications beneficial
