Overview :

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details :

Mercy Hospital South is looking for experienced and new graduate RN's and LPNs for Mercy South Medical Stepdown Unit. Medical Stepdown is a 22- patient bed unit that specializes in the care of acutely ill medical patients. Patient Population includes : Bipaps, High Flow Oxygen, Tracheostomies, and Ventilated Tracheostomies, Respiratory Failure, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Alcohol Withdrawal, Drug Overdose, Severe Sepsis, End of Life Care, etc. This unit requires excellent critical thinking and quick decision-making skills. What to expect : RN to Patient Ratio : 3-4 patients with Tech Support Close relationship with the Pulmonologist 24 / 7 Leadership Support Daily collaboration with Care Management Team, PT, OT, Dietician, and Pharmacists. Day and Night Shift Available!

Qualifications :

Education : Graduated from a school of nursing (associate's degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and / or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience : Certifications :

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
