Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a High Energy Laser (HEL) Power and Thermal Subsystem Engineer to support the US Army at Redstone Arsenal. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities / Duties :

• Provide technical input and oversight for the power and thermal subsystems, ensuring the systems meet performance and safety standards.
• Develop and adapt modeling and simulation codes for performance assessment of laser systems.
• Perform data analysis and develop assessment models for these subsystems in an array of environmental and mission conditions.
• Conduct research in optics, fiber optics, and optical correlators.
• Manage project tasks, schedules, and interface with government customers and the defense community.
• Prepare technical reports, standard operating procedures, and other documentation related to laser system operations and performance.
• Support the government lead for HEL subsystems, power, and thermal subsystem support of the laser source, beam control system, and fire control / battle management.
• Other duties as assigned.
