Job Summary:
The Pharmacist supports daily pharmacy operations by performing prescription verification and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant dispensing of medications. This role is primarily responsible for PV2 verification while also supporting PV1 verification and general pharmacist duties as operational needs require.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Prescription Verification: Perform PV2 verification of prescriptions and support PV1 verification as needed to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations including DEA and FDA requirements while maintaining proper documentation
• Quality Assurance: Identify and resolve prescription discrepancies to ensure medication safety prior to fulfillment
• Operational Support: Assist with overall prescription processing, workflow continuity, and day to day pharmacy operations
• Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacy technicians, other pharmacists, and fulfillment staff to maintain efficient operations
• Metrics Awareness: Support productivity and accuracy goals aligned with pharmacy standards
• Communication: Escalate issues appropriately and support clear handoffs to ensure continuity of care and operations
Qualification Requirements:
• Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
• Active Florida pharmacist license
• Experience performing prescription verification in a pharmacy setting
• Prior experience in a compounding or fulfillment pharmacy preferred
• Strong understanding of medication administration and pharmacology principles
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
