Veterinary Assistant / Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Location : Gentle Care Veterinary Hospital – Hayward, CA

At Gentle Care Veterinary Hospital, we pride ourselves on being a close-knit, high-performing team that truly values collaboration, compassion, and growth. As an experienced Veterinary Assistant or RVT, you’ll play an essential role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our doctors in delivering high-quality medicine.

What You’ll Do :

  • Assist veterinarians with surgical, dental, and diagnostic procedures .
  • Perform anesthesia monitoring, dental radiographs, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and lab sample processing .
  • Deliver compassionate, attentive patient care and clear communication with clients .
  • Support smooth daily flow by anticipating doctor and team needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace .
  • Contribute to team discussions, training, and continued learning opportunities .

Who You Are :

  • Experienced & Skilled : At least 2 years of veterinary experience preferred (RVT license a plus, but not required).
  • Team-Focused : You value teamwork, communication, and helping others succeed.
  • Compassionate & Professional : You advocate for every patient and provide education and reassurance to clients.
  • Adaptable & Calm : You handle a fast-paced environment with poise and positivity.

    • ✨ Professional Growth : While we’re a smaller team, we believe in growing together. We provide CE funds for RVTs and encourage hands-on skill advancement and cross-training to help you continue building your experience and confidence.

    Work-Life Balance : We currently operate Monday through Friday , with Saturday rotations planned to begin in 2026 . This adjustment will ensure consistent coverage while allowing team members to continue enjoying regular weekends off.
