Surgery Coordinator

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Surgery Coordinator to join our team.

POSITION SUMMARY The Surgery Coordinator assumes responsibility and accountability for the surgery patient during all phases of the surgery process in collaboration with the physicians and other departments of the practice. Generates and coordinates the necessary information and arrangements for patient surgery. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Manage medical collections and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding accounts.

Develop and maintain care plans for patients, ensuring all necessary documentation is up-to-date.

Oversee office management tasks, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.

Utilize Modernizing Medicine / Klara software for electronic health records management and patient tracking.

Exhibit excellent phone etiquette while interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.

Conduct insurance verification to confirm coverage and eligibility for services.

Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and correspondence management.

Provide bilingual support to enhance communication with diverse patient populations (if applicable).

Assist with typing reports, memos, and other documents as needed to support clinic operations.

Requirements

Familiarity with care plans and patient documentation processes is a plus.

Proficiency in electronic health record systems is advantageous.

Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication.

Experience with insurance verification processes is highly desirable.

Excellent clerical skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
