Position Summary

As the CPA – Accounting Operations & Client Bookkeeping Lead, you will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and control of both client bookkeeping and our internal accounting operations. Tax preparation and review are important, but clean books drive everything we do.

Primary Responsibilities

Client Bookkeeping & Accounting Oversight

• Oversee and review monthly bookkeeping for business clients

• Ensure accurate reconciliations and financial statements

• Identify errors and risk areas early

• Establish accounting standards and workflows

• Train and mentor bookkeeping staff

Firm Accounting & Operational Control

• Oversee internal firm accounting

• Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency

• Support leadership with financial insights

• Maintain SOPs and controls

Tax Preparation & Compliance

• Prepare and review tax returns

• Support IRS and state correspondence

• Align tax filings with financial data

Tax Strategy Support (Taxsmithing™)

• Participate in strategy sessions

• Translate financials into insights

• Support proactive planning

Leadership & Quality Control

• Review team work

• Mentor staff

• Improve systems and workflows

Required Qualifications

• Active CPA license

• 3+ years experience

• Strong bookkeeping and accounting background

• Business entity and tax knowledge
