Salary : $25.37-$28.00 / HR.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office located in Findlay, OH is a law enforcement organization that strives to provide professional services to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, maintain human rights, protect property, and preserve life. The department operates with a philosophy that allows law enforcement and the community residents to work together to prevent and solve crimes.

Job Description

Receives and discharges inmates; performs complete booking process including fingerprinting, photographs, etc. Performs search of persons leaving or reentering the facility for contraband; completes required forms necessary during booking and release process; prepares routine records, reports and files as required; makes proper entries into jail management software; operates video player software to review video in incidents recorded by jail security camera; uses Microsoft Outlook to send and receive electronic email.

Correction Officer Requirements :

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Willing to perform shift work
  • Willing to work holidays / weekends and overtime
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure

  • No felony convictions
  • Valid Ohio Drivers License / ID
  • Must be able to pass extensive background investigation including, but not limited to, the monitoring of social media accounts, prior law enforcement interaction, and personal & past job references
