Full-time Laser Programmer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laser Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DXF programming CAM programming and fiber laser technology. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of our laser cutting equipment contributing to the overall productivity and quality of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize laser cutting programs using DXF files and CAM software
  • Set up and operate fiber laser cutting machines
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to create efficient cutting paths
  • Troubleshoot programming and equipment issues
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to improve processes and product quality
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records of programming activities and machine performance
  • Train and mentor junior staff on laser programming techniques
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in laser cutting technology and programming methods

Detailed Role Description

As a Laser Programmer you will be at the forefront of our manufacturing process responsible for translating design specifications into precise cutting instructions for our fiber laser machines. Your expertise in DXF and CAM programming will be crucial in optimizing cutting paths minimizing material waste and maximizing production efficiency.

You will work closely with our design team to interpret technical drawings and specifications ensuring that the final product meets all quality standards and customer requirements. Your role will involve :

  • Program Development : Create and refine cutting programs using industry-standard software. This includes importing DXF files setting cutting parameters and optimizing nesting to maximize material utilization.
  • Machine Setup : Configure fiber laser cutting machines according to job specifications including selecting appropriate lenses nozzles and assist gases.
  • Quality Control : Conduct test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure cutting accuracy and edge quality meet our high standards.
  • Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve programming issues machine malfunctions and other technical problems that may arise during the cutting process.
  • Process Improvement : Continuously analyze and optimize cutting processes to increase efficiency reduce cycle times and minimize material waste.
  • Documentation : Maintain detailed records of programming procedures machine settings and performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with design production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth workflow and address any cross-functional challenges.
  • Training : Provide guidance and training to junior staff members on laser programming techniques machine operation and safety procedures.

    • Required Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of experience in laser programming preferably with fiber laser technology
  • Proficiency in DXF programming and CAM software
