License : Valid license in Cardiac Ultrasound from ARDMS or CCI Certification required
Certifications : Associates of Science degree in healthcare or completion of a two-year Echocardiogram training program required
Must-Have :
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an echo tech
- ARDMS license or CCI Certification
- Associates Degree or completion of two-year echocardiogram certificate program
- Electronic echo reporting experience required
- High school diploma or GED required
Description :
Under the direction of the Director, the echo tech operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
The tech produces cardiac images according to policy and protocol.
Examinations performed include adult echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
The echo tech is responsible for assuring a high level of quality in all exams.
They provide the interpreting physician with all necessary information to make an accurate diagnosis.
Collaboration with other departments is essential to provide procedures in a timely and efficient manner for all involved.
Equipment utilized includes Philips IE33 and Philips Epiq.
Epic EMR is used for electronic documentation.
Some call and weekends may be required.
The echo tech will not float to other areas.
