Position Overview
Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered After-School Activities Instructor to facilitate short-format enrichment programming for students in a school-based setting. This role supports high-quality, age-appropriate learning experiences that build students’ confidence, curiosity, and collaboration skills through hands-on, interactive activities.
Programming topics vary by assignment and may include STEM enrichment, arts, games and design challenges, academic skill-building, or structured clubs. The instructor will deliver instruction one day per week for approximately one hour across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to student needs and site logistics.
What You Will Teach
The After-School Activities Teacher leads structured enrichment sessions designed to promote active participation, positive peer interaction, and skill development. Lessons should be engaging, appropriately scaffolded, and aligned to a clear weekly plan, while remaining flexible to the needs of the group and the school environment.
Major Topics Can Include
- Team-building games and collaborative problem-solving
- STEM enrichment activities (design challenges, simple coding or logic activities, experiments aligned to site expectations)
- Creative arts (visual art, digital creativity, music activities, performance-based projects)
- Academic enrichment (homework support, study skills, literacy / math games)
- Social-emotional learning routines (communication, self-management, goal-setting, reflection)
- Leadership and workplace readiness habits (responsibility, persistence, respectful discussion)
- Project-based learning and student showcases
- Classroom routines, expectations, and positive community-building
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a 10-session after-school enrichment course with clear objectives and engaging instructionEstablish consistent routines, transitions, and expectations aligned to site policiesFacilitate hands-on activities that promote participation, collaboration, and skill growthDifferentiate instruction to support varying readiness levels and learning needsMaintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environmentCommunicate professionally with site staff and Concorde program contacts regarding attendance and session completion trackingAdapt pacing and activities as needed while maintaining the intended outcomes of the programQualifications (Required)
Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress / completed)Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, camp, after-school, tutoring, youth programs)Strong facilitation skills, classroom presence, and clear communicationReliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundariesAbility to lead engaging activities with appropriate structure and positive behavior supportsComfort implementing lesson plans and providing clear documentation of session completion, as required
