Behavioral Health Technician

Samfest Behavioral Homecare LLC is looking for a qualified BHT.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting working with adolescents required
• Must meet Arizona BHT qualifications.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification - current or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (issued by DPS)
• Valid Arizona driver's license and clean driving record (if transport duties required)
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and engage in physical activity including walking, standing, and possibly physical intervention when necessary
• Willingness to work morning and holidays as scheduled
• Must maintain professional boundaries and work effectively in a team environment

JOB DESCRIPTION

ü Protect client rights

ü Take inventory of resident’s belonging upon admission

ü Do facility tour for new residents

ü Meet the uniqueness of every resident’s needs

ü Document incident report, resident progress notes and medication taken by the residents before the end of your shift.

ü Provide treatment that promotes resident dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy and choices.

ü Protect and maintain the confidentiality of resident records and information.

ü Recognize and respect cultural differences while promoting social relationships with others.

ü Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which a resident may be in danger to self- or danger to others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, may be experiencing a crisis situation or may be experiencing a medical emergency.

ü Read and implement a residents treatment plan

ü Assist a resident in accessing community services and resources

ü Supervise residents on outing and assist in social activities when needed

ü Help in preparation of meals and making sure the facility is kept clean at all times

ü Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder or substance abuse

ü Assist in the Self-Administration and Administration of medication and inform the administrator 7-14 days before their medications finish.

ü Assists in meal preparations and daily household upkeep

ü Provide daily assistance, prompting, coaching with ADLs – hands on or verbal

ü Provide Counseling for the residents and document them.

ü Compulsory attending the clinic oversight meeting with our BHP.

ü Head counts before starting your shift and check their rooms for contraband.

ü Always check on the clients every 15 to 30 minutes on your shift.

ü Assist the residents with their doctor’s appointment.

ü Take the residents to AA meetings when they have it.

ü Take the residents to Gym according to their schedule.

ü Take the residents to shopping and always put your eyes on them during their shopping. And always watch and check on them for contraband during shopping and after shopping.

Compensation: $16-$17/hr.
