Proficiency in Excel, including the use of pivot tables, formulas, and macros. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms. Experience with sales tax filings or property tax processes is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment. Comfortable managing large datasets and multi-state reporting requirements. Associate degree or accounting certification preferred but not required. Self-motivated with the ability to handle repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately.
Entry Level Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented entry level accountant to join our team in San Francisco, California. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tax compliance and financial reporting while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. If you have strong organizational skills, proficiency in Excel, and a willingness to learn, this role could be a great fit for you.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and submit monthly sales and use tax returns, property tax filings, and business license applications.
- Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end financial close processes.
- Analyze and organize raw data to determine appropriate tax jurisdictions and rates.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, formulas, and macros, to manage and interpret financial data.
- Support tax preparers by uploading data into specialized software and ensuring accurate filings.
- Maintain electronic filing systems and organize records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Assist with filing extensions, e-filings, and miscellaneous administrative projects as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines are met and reporting is accurate.
- Provide support for multi-state tax compliance and reporting activities.
