The Opportunity :

As a Staff Software Engineer you will be part of our Shared Service & Cloud Enablement portfolio team within Acceptance Solutions org to help design enhance and build our transactional platform in an agile development environment. You will play part of Shared Services team tasked with multiple projects ranging from building full stack development of real-time transactional services REST services API Container based services to highly functional secure scalable and resilient real time payment systems. You will work on development unit testing code reviews and regular check-ins to continuous integration that will become part of your DNA. You will see the code written and moved to production within just a few days to a week to then be used by a huge customer base including Facebook Nike FedEx Apple State Farm to name a few.

The Work itself :

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visas internal standards for scalability security and reusability
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements valuable service technology and new business flows in diverse agile squads
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants b2b and business to government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services Transaction Platforms Real-Time Payments and Buy Now Pay Later Technology

Essential Functions :

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications :

5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD OR 8 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

Strong experience in building large scale enterprise level backend applications using Java Spring REST API RDBMS NoSQL Vert.x Kafka Kubernetes and Jenkins.

Good analytics & problem-solving skills with a solid foundation in algorithms data structures and common design patterns.

Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery Container platforms (Docker Kubernetes).

Proficiency with Observability tools (Splunk Grafana OpenSearch M3DB

Prometheus OpenTelemetry CloudWatch FluentBit Elastic Search)

Experience with TDD using JUNIT / functional automation testing and tools.

Proven experience delivering complex software projects and solutions effectively through Agile methodologies on a regular release cadence.

Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to think big and challenge the status quo.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Hands-on experience in AI particularly Generative AI is highly preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well in a team and independently.

GCP or AWS Cloud certifications are a plus.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY : The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 146200.00 to 211850.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
