Spherion has upcoming temporary and temp to hire Accounting Clerk positions in the Lafayette, LA area. The ideal Accounting Clerk is someone who supports the accounting or finance department by handling daily financial tasks such as data entry, managing accounts payable/receivable, filing, and assisting with bank deposits, requiring solid attention to detail and math skills.
Schedule: Monday-Friday day shift such as 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $16-21/hr. Depending on specific job duties and candidate experience
Responsibilities:
- Enter data, process invoices, receipts, and payments (accounts payable/receivable).
- Maintain and update accounting databases, digital, and physical filing systems.
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheets, and account discrepancies.
- Generate basic financial reports, summaries, and assist with monthly/periodic closings.
- Provide general clerical support, manage office supplies, and assist other accounting team members.
- Ensure all activities adhere to established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
