Quality Assurance Lab Technician 2nd Shift

Location: March Air Reserve Base, CA 48081

Schedule: 2nd Shift – Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
(Overtime may be required during peak seasons, vacations, or unplanned absences)

Pay rate: $19.51 per hour

Duties:

1. Sampling, testing, plating, reading, and recording product test results
2. Performing lab testing procedures (e.g., environmental swabbing)
3. Conducting sensory analysis on dairy products like milk
4. Inspecting plant areas and equipment for sanitation and regulatory compliance
5. Performing equipment calibration and minor troubleshooting
6. Supporting internal audits and managing hold procedures for non-compliant product
7. Monitoring CCP records and documenting food safety issues
8. Preparing for inspections and assisting USDA inspectors
9. Data entry, inventory control, and maintaining daily laboratory records
10. Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and training
11. Managing and maintaining lab cleanliness (6S principles)

Requirements:

1. 2+ years of experience in a similar lab/QA role (Food Manufacturing preferred)
2. Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation practices
3. Familiarity with microbiological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing
4. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active role
5. Intermediate Excel and general PC proficiency
6. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
7. Ability to work independently and with a team
8. Flexible availability for covering vacations or unplanned absences
