Job Title : Assistant Controller - Banking

Location : On-site Abilene, Texas

Job Type : Full-time on-site

Pay rate : $85,000 to $125,000 plus profit sharing (based on years of experience)

About the Role : .

Jefferson Wells is seeking a skilled Assistant Controller with a strong background working at a Banking to work with our client in Abilene, Texas. This role involves being responsible for the daily operation and function of the operations department and numerous other complex tasks. Frequent interaction with bank management, auditors, and vendors. Participates in job specific training, various bank training programs and complies with BSA, AML and all bank policies and procedures as required. Actively participates in the Customer Service First sales and service culture, support the values of the organization and follow established Bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications :

3+ years of in a Bank or Credit Union, banking experience environments

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field is highly preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Excel is also required, strong reporting skills

Experience with working with an outside Audit firm

Prepares or reviews internal and external financial statement reporting, including consolidations, eliminations, taxes and allocations

Prepares or reviews accounting entries and calculations and month end closing entries.

Knowledge of applications of accounting principles and SEC reporting, including implementation of new accounting and / or rules and regulations.

Performs analysis of variances and trends on the Company's financials.
