Senior Application Developer

Job Description

A local government client of Insight Global is hiring for a Remote Senior Application Developer to join their team. This individual will support a data integration project to assist in enhancing their coordinated case management system. This Application Developer will be responsible for designing and developing software applications that support non-technical staff across multiple departments. The position involves adhering to established development practices for planning, design, source control, and testing, while following Agile methodologies. Key duties include implementing object-oriented design principles and patterns, leveraging existing technologies and enterprise tools, and building front-end views using JavaScript, Knockout, and various UI plug-ins. The developer will create C# controller and model classes, maintain unit tests, and produce comprehensive system, user, and support documentation. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining applications, developing database schemas, and performing optimization and performance tuning to ensure efficient and reliable solutions.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized and collaborative individual with excellent problem solving skills. This is a fully remote 27 month long contract role. Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Public Sector Industry Experience
- 5+ years of experience in web-based application development
- Experience creating C# controller and model classes
- Experience in JavaScript and jQuery with experience in one or more front-end frameworks within JavaScript including Knockout
- Experience with Microsoft Full web Stack in .NET MVC 4
- Experience with MVVM and MVC 4 design patterns
- Source control experience using SVN or GIT
- SQL experience
