Structural Engineer in Training

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER IN TRAINING (E.I.T.)

Job Summary :

The Structural Engineer in Training will work under the supervision of Senior Staff to perform computer aided design, calculation checking, and other design tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Train with the Professional Engineers to perform the analysis and engineering of :
• Single-family residences (production and custom)
• Multi-family complexes
• Retail / Low-rise commercial facilities
• Ancillary structures (retaining walls, screen walls, and miscellaneous structures)
• Ability to utilize a variety of building materials including :
• Dimensional lumber
• Engineered wood products
• Masonry
• Concrete
• Cold-formed steel
• Steel
• Create structural design drawings, calculations, and details under the direction of Professional Engineers.
• Review shop drawing submittals.
• Perform site visits to various project sites.
• Follows company policies and procedures
• Any other duties not specifically defined herein that will support the engineering team’s efforts

Work Environment :

The work environment is in an indoor / outdoor setting and is subject to hot, cold, windy and wet weather

conditions resulting in heat and dust exposure.
