Manager, Clinical Systems Engineer

What You’ll Do

• Partner with the Director to set department direction; act as leader in their absence.
• Lead the medical device cybersecurity program, ensuring proactive risk assessment, protection, and remediation.
• Oversee the radiology service program and ensure strong, reliable performance of imaging systems.
• Collaborate with IT on imaging device integrations, PACS routing, VPNs, networks, servers, and infrastructure issues.
• Manage software integrity, patching, and maintenance for computer‑based medical equipment.
• Perform disaster recovery activities such as system drive cloning and restoration.
• Prioritize and assign repairs, preventive maintenance, and project tasks for Biomedical Engineering staff.
• Provide day‑to‑day supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
• Lead special engineering projects and support clinical research initiatives involving device data, software development, and system design.
• Analyze medical equipment lifecycle data to guide technology planning and purchasing decisions.
• Advise leaders on new equipment, emerging technologies, and system upgrades.
• Train clinical teams on the safe and effective use of biomedical equipment.
• Manage on‑call rotations and emergency response for equipment issues.
• Oversee departmental education, orientation, and competency programs.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 4+ years of progressive healthcare engineering experience (Master’s preferred).
• Preferred certifications: CHTM, CBET, CCE.
• Four relevant IT/IS certifications required.
• Knowledge of HL7, MDIL, and hospital middleware.
• Experience with medical device cybersecurity, imaging systems, and complex networked devices.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, technical depth, and ability to lead engineering decision‑making.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to interpret technical data and reports.
