Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

News Producer (Regular Full-Time)

WTTG/WDCA – FOX 5 DC/FOX 5 Plus

As part of Fox Corporation and Fox Television stations, we deliver more hours of original programming than any other local station in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market. You’ll help shape stories that inform, engage, and inspire our community across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Daily Production: Responsible for all aspects of assigned newscasts – from story selection and editorial decisions to final delivery.
• Create Compelling Content: Write, edit, and produce engaging stories and segments for broadcast and digital.
• Coordinate Coverage: Work with the directors, assignment desk and editors, on‑air staff, and field crews to manage live shots, visuals, and supporting materials.
• Drive Digital Integration: Collaborate with digital and news teams to ensure stories reach audiences on all platforms.
• Contribute Editorially: Participate in daily news and production meetings and help shape newsroom coverage strategies.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, reporting to the Executive Producer.

What We’re Looking For

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field; minimum of three years of experience in a medium‑to‑large market.
• Editorial Judgment: Proven ability to identify, prioritize, and craft impactful stories with strong writing and storytelling skills.
• Technical Expertise: Familiarity with newsroom computer systems, live production tools, and non‑linear editing.
• Organization & Problem Solving: Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with sound decision‑making.
• Creativity & Collaboration: Innovative thinker who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Professionalism: Maintains composure under pressure and contributes positively to newsroom culture.

Additional Details

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $90,000.00‑96,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
